Imran Khan, Bushra Bibi appeals in £190m case up at IHC today

Shafaqna Pakistan: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has scheduled the hearing of appeals filed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi against their conviction in the 190 million pounds NAB reference.

A division bench, comprising Chief Justice Sardar Muhammad Sarfraz Dogar and Justice Muhammad Asif, will take up the case on Wednesday, according to the cause list issued by the registrar’s office.

The hearing was earlier set for April 22 but was cancelled after the cause list was withdrawn due to the closure of the Red Zone. The court has now rescheduled the proceedings for today.

The case pertains to the Al-Qadir Trust corruption reference, in which an accountability court in Islamabad sentenced Imran Khan to 14 years in prison and Bushra Bibi to seven years on January 17, 2025.

The PTI founder and Bushra Bibi were sentenced by a trial court in the graft case related to the Al-Qadir Trust. They have challenged the verdict before the IHC, seeking acquittal.

Further proceedings will be held before the division bench today.
