Shafaqna Pakistan: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has described the signing of the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement with Saudi Arabia and Türkiye as a matter of great pride and honour.
In a statement posted on X, the prime minister said he was proud and honoured to sign the defence pact in Makkah alongside Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
Shehbaz Sharif said the agreement reflects the three brotherly Islamic nations’ shared faith, mutual friendship and collective commitment to promoting peace, security and stability.
The PM prayed that this historic agreement, reached under the auspicious shadow of the Two Holy Mosques, would be a guarantee of peace and stability for future generations, a source of progress and prosperity for the three countries, and a source of goodness and blessings for the entire Muslim Ummah.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, in particular, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, saying that his tireless work, extraordinary dedication, and continuous efforts played a significant role in achieving this important goal.
