Shafaqna Pakistan: In response to major disruptions in global energy supply chains caused by the ongoing military confrontation involving the United States, Israel and Iran, the Indian government has introduced a binding directive setting a daily production ceiling of 63,810 metric tonnes for liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).
Issued on August 13, the directive applies to all refineries across India, including both state-owned and privately operated facilities. The policy is aimed at ensuring a stable and sufficient supply of LPG for domestic consumers while also building strategic reserves that can be utilised in the event of further disruptions.
By maintaining additional reserves, the government seeks to reduce India’s exposure to fluctuations in international energy markets and strengthen the country’s ability to withstand potential future supply shocks.
