Pakistan cuts petrol price, diesel prices for August 28

Shafaqna Pakistan: The government on Thursday announced a marginal reduction in the prices of petroleum products, cutting petrol by Re0.50 per litre and high-speed diesel by Re0.19 per litre.

According to a notification issued by the Petroleum Division, the price of petrol has been lowered to Rs342.60 per litre, while high-speed diesel will now cost Rs371.61 per litre.

The revised rates will come into effect from August 28, 2026, and remain valid for one day.

The government has been setting petroleum prices on a daily basis under a mechanism introduced by the Ministry of Petroleum to adjust fuel prices in line with prevailing conditions.

The latest reduction comes as the government continues to review fuel prices in line with changes in international oil prices and other relevant factors under the existing pricing mechanism.

The Petroleum Division formally issued the notification announcing the revised rates.
