Shafaqna Pakistan: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has been nominated for the Noble Sustainability Global Leadership Award in recognition of her data-driven governance model and technology-led initiatives aimed at strengthening climate resilience and promoting sustainable socio-economic development.
The Swiss-based Global Sustainability Trust, which annually recognises outstanding leadership in sustainability worldwide, has acknowledged several initiatives undertaken by the Punjab government under Maryam Nawaz’s leadership. These include efforts focused on climate resilience, environmental protection, wildlife conservation, forestry, ecosystem restoration and comprehensive air-quality management.
The Trust has particularly highlighted the government’s use of digital innovation, data-based policymaking and technology-enabled governance to tackle environmental challenges while promoting sustainable development and improving the delivery of public services.
In recognition of these efforts, the Global Sustainability Trust has invited Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif as Guest of Honour at the 2026 Noble Sustainability Trust Summit and Award Ceremony, scheduled to take place in Hong Kong on 30 November 2026.
The nomination places Punjab’s climate and environmental initiatives in an international sustainability context and highlights the growing role of digital technology and data-driven governance in building climate-resilient societies and promoting sustainable development.
