Patients in Herat Call Out Expensive, Low-Quality Hospital Care

Shafaqna Pakistan:- Patients and healthcare workers in Afghanistan’s Herat province have voiced concerns over the rising cost of medical treatment, expensive medicines and the quality of services at some private hospitals.

They say many families are struggling to afford hospital stays, medication and other healthcare expenses. Healthcare workers have also raised concerns over a lack of transparency in billing, the quality of some medicines and insufficient oversight of private healthcare facilities.
