Security forces killed 10 suspected militants in two separate engagements in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the military said on Thursday, identifying them as members of what it described as the Indian-sponsored “Fitna-Al-Khwarij.”
According to the statement, the first encounter took place in the Azam Warsak area of South Waziristan district, where a group of militants allegedly attempted to attack security forces’ check posts. Troops responded effectively, killing eight suspected militants during the ensuing exchange of fire.
In a separate operation in Dir district, security forces killed two more suspected militants, the statement added.
The military said weapons and ammunition were recovered from those killed, alleging that they had been involved in several militant activities in the area.
Sanitization operations are being conducted to eliminate any other Kharji found in the area.
