Shafaqna Pakistan: Saudi Arabia and France have signed a series of agreements aimed at expanding bilateral cooperation, including strengthening ties in the defence sector, Saudi state television reported on Monday.
Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and French President Emmanuel Macron witnessed the signing ceremony at the Élysée Palace following their bilateral talks, according to Saudi broadcaster Al-Ekhbariya.
The agreements cover several areas of mutual cooperation between Riyadh and Paris. Among them is a declaration of intent signed by Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Defence and France’s Ministry of the Armed Forces to further deepen and strengthen defence relations between the two countries.
The development underscores the two countries’ efforts to deepen their strategic partnership and expand cooperation across multiple sectors.
Earlier, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported that Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and President Macron held bilateral talks at the Élysée Palace.
The meeting and signing ceremony took place as Saudi Arabia and France seek to further develop their longstanding political, economic and security ties.
