Shafaqna Pakistan:- Coinciding with the beginning of the new Hijri year, the Holy Kaaba was adorned with its new Kiswa for the year 1448 AH.
According to Shafaqna, Al Riyadh reported that the replacement of the Kaaba’s Kiswa is not merely an annual ceremony, but the result of a broad national effort involving 150 Saudi craftsmen and artisans. Over 11 months of continuous work, they produced 47 pieces of premium black silk embroidered with 30 verses from the Holy Quran using silver threads coated with 24-karat gold. The total weight of the Kiswa reaches 1,410 kilograms.
According to the report, the process of manufacturing the Kaaba’s Kiswa consists of seven precise stages, beginning with water purification and silk washing, followed by weaving, printing, embroidery, assembly, quality control, and finally transportation using a specially designed vehicle that protects this valuable Islamic heritage until it is installed in the Mataf area of the Grand Mosque.
