Shafaqna Pakistan:- NASA is planning a pioneering experiment to ignite a controlled fire on the Moon, according to The Independent. If carried out, it would mark the first time humans have intentionally created fire on the lunar surface.
The experiment is designed to examine how fire behaves in the Moon’s environment, helping researchers prepare for potential emergency situations during future crewed Artemis missions to the Moon, Mars, and beyond.
According to NASA’s Flammability of Materials on the Moon (FM2) experiment page, the study is crucial because fire poses a serious risk to spaceflight and human exploration. The agency says the experiment will help assess the flammability of materials and improve safety measures for upcoming deep-space missions.
