Shafaqna Pakistan:- Preparations for the annual washing of the Kaaba began on Tuesday with the raising of the curtain covering its door, marking the first stage of the longstanding ceremony.
The ritual, held each year on the 15th of Muharram in the Islamic calendar, is among the oldest traditions associated with Islam’s holiest site.
During the ceremony, the interior walls of the Kaaba are washed with Zamzam water blended with rose water and a premium oud fragrance.
The Kaaba’s interior cloths are also treated with the scented mixture, while its three pillars and floor are thoroughly cleaned. Once the washing is complete, the surfaces inside the Grand Mosque are dried before the interior walls are perfumed, concluding the annual cleansing ritual.
