Shafaqna Pakistan: The United Kingdom and Turkiye have signed a new security and defence partnership agreement on the sidelines of the NATO summit, describing the deal as a major step forward in their strategic relationship.
According to a joint statement, the agreement underscores the two NATO allies’ shared commitment to enhancing cooperation in response to the evolving security challenges across the Euro-Atlantic region.
Under the new partnership, the UK and Turkiye will establish structured consultation mechanisms to strengthen coordination on the political and military aspects of security and defence policy.
Key areas of cooperation include defence strategy, military collaboration, the defence industry and technology, cybersecurity, and countering hybrid threats.
The statement noted that both countries play a unique and indispensable role in Euro-Atlantic security.
It also reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing cooperation within NATO, increasing defence spending, and ensuring the alliance possesses the capabilities required to address current and emerging security challenges.
