Shafaqna Pakistan: Türkiye has strongly condemned the drone attacks on two merchant vessels in the Black Sea, warning that the incidents threaten international maritime trade and global food security.
According to foreign media reports, the Turkish Foreign Ministry said the ships were struck by drones after departing Russia’s Novorossiysk port, leaving several crew members injured.
The ministry said it is closely monitoring the condition of the injured sailors.
Turkish authorities also voiced deep concern over rising tensions between Russia and Ukraine in the Black Sea, noting that civilian shipping continues to be endangered despite repeated warnings. They cautioned that such attacks pose a significant risk to global trade and the stability of international food supply chains.
The ministry urged all relevant parties to take immediate and effective measures to ensure the safety of navigation in the Black Sea so that commercial shipping operations are not disrupted.
According to reports, the two vessels targeted in the attacks were Yasar and Nadezhda, which are registered under the flags of Panama and Cameroon, respectively, but are owned by Turkish companies.
