Shafaqna Pakistan: Security forces killed 12 suspected terrorists during two intelligence-based operations (IBOs) conducted in the Washuk and Mastung districts of Balochistan on August 5 and 6, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Thursday.
According to the military’s media wing, the operations were carried out under “Rad-ul-Fitna-3”, part of an ongoing intelligence-led counterterrorism campaign targeting what it referred to as “Fitna Al Hindustan.”
The ISPR said security forces first tracked the movement of six suspected militants in Washuk district on August 5 before launching a targeted operation. Following an exchange of fire, all six were killed.
In a separate intelligence-based operation conducted in Mastung district on August 6, another six terrorists were killed during an intense firefight with security forces, the ISPR said. A terrorist hideout was also destroyed during the operation.
The military’s media wing said the operations were part of the broader “Azm-e-Istehkam” initiative, approved by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan, to eliminate foreign-sponsored terrorism from Pakistan.
The ISPR reaffirmed that Pakistan’s security forces and law enforcement agencies would continue intelligence-driven operations across the country until the threat of militancy is eradicated.
