Shafaqna Pakistan: The Punjab government has formed a high-level committee to spearhead legal and administrative reforms in the province and has issued a formal notification to implement its reform agenda.
According to the notification, Advocate General Punjab Barrister Zafarullah Khan has been appointed chairman and convener of the Reforms Committee.
The committee comprises the Senior Member of the Board of Revenue, the Inspector General of Punjab Police and the Secretary of Law, among other officials.
Under its mandate, the committee will formulate recommendations on legal and administrative reforms and submit them to the Punjab chief minister through the chief secretary for consideration.
The government has also decided to establish a Reforms Cell in the office of the Advocate General Punjab. Administrative and logistical matters related to the cell will be finalized in consultation with the Chief Secretary Punjab.
The notification states that the committee has been established to develop practical proposals aimed at improving Punjab’s legal, administrative, and governance systems.
