Shafaqna Pakistan: Pakistan has increased liquefied natural gas (LNG) prices by up to 16.17%, according to a government notification issued on Saturday, raising the cost of gas supplied through the Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) and Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) distribution networks.
Under the revised rates, the price of LNG supplied through the SSGC network has been increased by $2.59 per MMBtu to $18.64 per MMBtu.
A similar adjustment has been made for the SNGPL system, where the notified LNG price has risen by $2.54 per MMBtu to $19.52 per MMBtu.
The revised prices will apply to consumers connected to the respective gas distribution networks.
Overall, LNG prices have risen by as much as 16.17 per cent, with both gas utilities recording increases of more than $2.5 per MMBtu under the revised pricing mechanism.
The latest notification formalises the new LNG rates for both SSGC and SNGPL systems, setting the revised prices at $18.64 per MMBtu and $19.52 per MMBtu, respectively.
