Shafaqna Pakistan: -The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) has warned that a severe funding shortfall is threatening humanitarian operations in Afghanistan, where millions of people continue to rely on aid.
The UN stressed that increased financial contributions from the international community are essential to sustain and strengthen humanitarian assistance across the country.
OCHA spokesperson in Afghanistan Olga Cherevko said the agency was facing a critical funding gap, noting that the Humanitarian Response Plan requires nearly $1.71 billion but has so far received just over 26% of the required amount. She warned that the situation is particularly alarming as key humanitarian indicators, especially child malnutrition, continue to deteriorate.
