Thousands of Palestinians Perform Friday Prayer at Al-Aqsa Mosque on 21 August 2026

Shafaqna Pakistan:- Thousands of Palestinians attended Friday prayers at Al-Aqsa Mosque and its courtyards despite heightened Israeli military restrictions around the holy site and the Old City of Occupied Jerusalem.

Israeli forces increased their presence around Al-Aqsa, establishing checkpoints at the mosque’s gates and entrances to the Old City. Worshippers were subjected to security checks and identity verification.

Several Palestinians were reportedly prevented from reaching the mosque, as restrictions on access to the site and freedom of worship remained in place.

Despite the restrictions, thousands of worshipers managed to reach the Mosque and perform Friday prayer, reaffirming their determination to exercise their right to pray and maintain their presence at Aqsa in the face of Israeli measures restricting Palestinian access.

The measures come amid continued incursions by Jewish settlers into Al-Aqsa Mosque under the protection of Israeli police and escalating restrictions aimed at limiting the presence of Palestinian worshipers in its courtyards, particularly on Fridays and during religious occasions.
